Meet the team

Malin Jonell
is a researcher at the Stockholm Resilience Centre and the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Her work focuses on food system governance, with an emphasis on the role of supermarkets and mid-chain actors in driving sustainability. She leads research on sustainability indicators, corporate stewardship, and strategies for sustainable blue food.

Patrik Henriksson
is an assistant professor at Leiden University and the Stockholm Resilience Centre. His research explores the sustainability of aquaculture and fisheries, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. He works on life cycle assessment (LCA), environmental footprints, antibiotic resistance, and the integration of ecological and social data into food and seafood value chains.

Ylva Ran
is a researcher at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). Her work focuses on sustainable food production and consumption, with an emphasis on behavioral change, environmental impact, and interventions for food system transformation.

Max Troell
is an associate professor at the Stockholm Resilience Centre and a senior research fellow at the Beijer Institute. He is an expert in aquaculture and coastal ecosystem management. His work addresses environmental impacts of seafood production, ecosystem-based management, and pathways for sustainable blue food systems.

Per Olsson
is an associate professor and deputy science director at the Stockholm Resilience Centre. His research examines transformations towards sustainability, with a focus on agency, innovation, and system entrepreneurship. He studies how individuals and groups create and navigate pathways for large-scale change in social-ecological systems.

Elin Röös
is an associate professor and lecturer at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). Her work centers on sustainable food production and consumption, including climate and environmental impacts of diets, agricultural systems, and policy measures for promoting sustainable land use and food system transitions.

Emanuel Bachinger
is a PhD candidate at Leiden University, with a study background in the fields of food technology and nutrition. In his PhD research he explores how dietary patterns and food consumption can be assessed through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), aiming to make environmental impacts of diets more comparable and transparent. Alongside his PhD, he teaches at an agricultural school in Vorarlberg, Austria.
